Our Team

Richard has spent 40 plus years in the industry, working for both the family business and on the corporate supplier side. Upon graduation from college in 1986, he began his career with Powerscreen of Florida as one of the early employees for his father, Denis, and worked where needed before taking a sales position in South Florida in 1989. He relocated back to Lakeland in 1998 as the company was expanding and started in management roles.

As the company grew ,he and his partner and brother-in-law Rafael took full ownership of the business from his father in 2012. Together they grew the business culminating in the company establishing an ESOP in 2022. This plan has set the path for the company forward for all our shareholders and the next generation of our families to drive the company to future success. Ultimately it is our partnerships with our customers and helping them provide solutions for their material handling challenges that makes the difference and sets us apart in this industry.

Rafael began his career as a professional baseball player. He played in college at Florida State University before beginning a 14-year professional career, including 8 seasons at the Major League level with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Oakland A’s, and Seattle Mariners. After retiring from playing, he worked for five years as a professional scout and Director of International Operations in the front offices of the Dodgers and the New York Mets. He also completed his degree in Business Management during this time.

Rafael started at Powerscreen working in the sales department with his father-in-law, Denis, before moving into leadership roles. Over the past 15 years, he has been part of ownership groups for various Powerscreen dealerships. Today, he serves as President of International Operations and Vice President of Domestic Operations, helping lead the company’s growth and expanding its global reach. Under his leadership, Powerscreen of Florida has been recognized multiple times with the Powerscreen Best Dealer Award across both domestic and international markets. Outside of work, Rafael enjoys spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. His hobbies include hiking, working out, and watching series.

Born and raised in Central Florida, Alex graduated from the University of Florida in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. He began his career with Lockheed Martin, where he gained valuable experience in a corporate environment before transitioning into his family’s business. There, he developed a strong foundation in managing a small business and understanding the challenges of day-to-day operations before coming on board at Powerscreen of Florida in 2017.

Since joining Powerscreen, Alex has served in a variety of roles, from Warranty Administrator to Controller, before taking on his current position as Chief Financial Officer. As CFO, he oversees the company’s financial strategy and operations while contributing to broader executive decision-making. He has been actively involved in guiding growth initiatives, implementing new systems, and supporting the company’s long-term vision, including the continued success of its employee ownership structure. Outside of work, Alex enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children. His interests include traveling and exploring new places, backpacking trips, fitness, and music.

Born and raised in Eglish, Co Tyrone just miles from the Powerscreen factory, John attended St Parick’s Academy in Dungannon and continued his education studying business and finance at the University of Ulster, Jordanstown Campus. After graduating in 1994, John headed to the USA where he worked in masonry with his brothers in Philadelphia, PA and then carpentry work with childhood friends in Hollywood, FL. In March of 1995 , while playing Gaelic football for St. Pat’s GAA in Fort Lauderdale, he met Denis and Richard Grant during a 7-a-side tournament, a connection that ultimately led him to join Powerscreen of Florida. He started out in the fabrication shop, building conveyors and picking stations, before moving into leadership roles as Parts Manager and later Service Manager.

Outside of work, John enjoys working out as well as watching all kinds of sports including Gaelic football, hurling, soccer and American football. Married to his wife Lavinia for 25 years, he is the proud father of three boys and has become an avid fan of Gator football often spending weekends cheering on the University of Florida in “The Swamp” where both his oldest sons attend college.

After earning a bachelor’s degree in business from Belmont University and a master’s in accounting from Florida State University while competing in baseball, Raffi began his career working in both public and private accounting in 2018. His introduction to Powerscreen came shortly after in 2019, when he transitioned into the heavy equipment industry as a Sales Representative covering the Central Florida territory. Over the years, he built strong relationships with customers and developed a reputation for his knowledge and customer-first approach. Today, he serves as Sales Manager, overseeing the sales team and helping guide Powerscreen of Florida’s continued growth. Outside of work, his time is devoted to his two kids, who keep him busy, and he enjoys following baseball whenever he gets the chance.

Upon graduating from high school in 2013, Nolan began his career with Powerscreen of Florida, gaining hands-on experience in a variety of roles both in the shop and out in the field as a service technician. After a few years of building his skills, he took an opportunity to work in Colorado with our manufacturing partner, Komptech, where he served as a parts specialist. Nolan eventually returned home to Florida and stepped into his current position as Logistics & Fleet Manager. In this role, he oversees all equipment moves and manages the allocation of machines to rental jobs, ensuring operations run smoothly and efficiently. When he’s not coordinating logistics, Nolan enjoys spending time on the golf course, hitting the slopes for a ski trip, or relaxing with a good video game.
